Glazing

Responding to a recent demonstration given in class, I wanted to update some of my recent studio work by glazing. Glazing has been an excellent way to add depth in my work through subtle temperature shifts. Additionally, the glaze has a tendency of producing unity and harmony in a piece. Below is an image of my pallet in mid-glaze. Take special note of the simple pallet and stark shifts of temperature. The transparency of the colors chosen which can be indicated on the paint tubes, allow for subtle shifts despite the dramatic look of strength in the colors.

Below this is an image of my pieces post-gaze. I used the cool ultramarine color in the background and a warm red and yellow (Indian) in the foreground.
