This is an image by Remington capturing the mood and feel of the night. He is achieving this through some very sophisticated techniques. We can discuss, many things form brush work to ambiguity, but the primary mover in this piece for me is the color pallet. i believe that this rather bizarre grouping of colors allows us to enter into the dim lit nocturne, hearing the bugs chirping in the still of night. I chose this piece to investigate the pallet for one of my own nocturnes below.
